Samsung Galaxy Note 20’s chipset might not be that bad after all

With the Galaxy Note 20 launch just a week away, all eyes will be on what upgrades Samsung brings to the table. While the chipset might remain unchanged, there might be a silver lining. While Samsung flagship like the Note series and the S series are powered by Snapdragon chipsets in the US and European markets, they come with Exynos chipset in Asian markets such as India. It often tends to lose out on the performance front against Qualcomm Snapdragon counterparts. However, a new leak suggests some good news in this regard. These optimizations should bring it closer to the Snapdragon 865 series. He even suggested that it is almost li...

Huawei P40 Pro doesn't have 120Hz refresh rate for these dubious reasons

While many top-end phones like the Samsung Galaxy S20 and Oppo Find X2 have 120Hz refresh rates on their screens, when the Huawei P40 Pro launched it was revealed that the phones would only have a 90Hz refresh rate. Now we know why that is. During the Huawei P40 China launch on April 8, company CEO Yu Chengdong discussed criticisms of the phone's refresh rate, as reported by IThome . Chengdong gave a few reasons that the company was happy with 90Hz, but we're not sure how many prospective customers would agree. Firstly, Chengdong specified that the Huawei P40 Pro and P40 Pro Plus could actually have a 120Hz screen, but the company decided against it for battery optimization "and other aspects". It's not clear though why the company didn't offer the option of 120Hz or a lower refresh rate, as other phones do, so users could choose their own balance of battery and refresh rate. These are the best Huawei phones What do you need to know about the Huawei ...

Samsung readying Apple iPad Pro competitors with bigger screens

There are almost no high-end options on the Android tablet marketplace if you’re looking for 11+ inch displays. New reports coming in suggest that Samsung could change that by introducing 11-inch and 12.4-inch screens.  Apple is Samsung’s chief rival in the tablet space, and it’s also understandable why the Korean conglomerate is planning on these bigger displays. Currently, Apple’s iPad Pro line comes with similar-sized 11-inch, and 12.9-inch slim-bezel screens and Samsung wants one of its products to compete in that category. According to the report by Sammobile, these will be flagship offerings introduced alongside the Wi-Fi and cellular variants.  Earlier reports have made it clear that Samsung’s Tab S6 successor with SM-T970 and SM-T975 model numbers is in the works. And since these model numbers are new for Samsung’s tablet series, it is being presumed that the bigger displays could be introduced with these variants. There...

The Witcher season 2: release date, story, new cast members and what we know

The Witcher season 2 will be massive when it returns to Netflix. While the first season of Geralt of Rivia's adventures were a smash hit, we're certain that next year it'll be even bigger. With its mixture of monster hunting, fantasy politics and deep characterization, it's easily one of the best Netflix shows around. In The Witcher season 2, expect no more funny business with confusing timelines. Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer will journey together, in the same timeframe, making the story a touch easier to follow. The Witcher's second season started shooting in early 2020, but like much of the entertainment world, work on the show has been disrupted by COVID-19. We're not yet sure how this'll affect its release date, which is still unknown, save for 2021 as a target year.  Nevertheless, when the fantasy epic does return, we'll no doubt be treated to more of the excellent stories made famous in The Witcher books , but hopefully we'll have ...

Leaked Samsung Galaxy Buds redesign ditches the earbud stems

A new leak suggests Samsung is busy working on some new earbuds to follow the Galaxy Buds and the Galaxy Buds Plus – and based on the 3D renderings that have appeared, there are going to be big changes in the design. The news and images come courtesy of WinFuture , and it seems the small stems on the current Galaxy Buds Plus are ditched in favor of a bean-like shape – and indeed the codename for the earbuds is rumored to be "Beans". WinFuture's sources say the new Beans buds are 2.8 cm (1.1 inches) in length, so they should fit snugly in most ears. There are no silicone tips though, so any noise canceling tech might suffer as a result. What we know about Project Tempo Siri could soon get an upgrade Get through your pile of games These earbuds are being tipped to come with two tiny loudspeakers embedded in them, which will produce better audio across the board. Microphones will again be included so you can make calls, get chatty with Bixby, and so on. ...

Dates have been set for E3 2021

The Entertainment Software Association has announced (via GamesIndustry.biz ) that E3 2021 will be taking place and that it will occupy its traditional June slot, specifically running from June 15 to June 17, 2021.  This announcement comes only a month after the ESA confirmed the cancellation of E3 2020 in response to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.  The organizer has said it’s planning a ‘reimagined’ event for next year, though what this will involve isn’t entirely clear just yet. The ESA's wish to do something different is not entirely surprising though, given it's been robbed of its opportunity to ‘shake things up’ in 2020 as it had wanted and E3 itself has, in recent years, had its relevancy called into question.  Planning ahead Before its cancellation, this year’s show  was proving particularly troublesome with Sony announcing that it wouldn’t be attending for the second time, retail and...
