Samsung Galaxy Note 20’s chipset might not be that bad after all

With the Galaxy Note 20 launch just a week away, all eyes will be on what upgrades Samsung brings to the table. While the chipset might remain unchanged, there might be a silver lining. While Samsung flagship like the Note series and the S series are powered by Snapdragon chipsets in the US and European markets, they come with Exynos chipset in Asian markets such as India. It often tends to lose out on the performance front against Qualcomm Snapdragon counterparts. However, a new leak suggests some good news in this regard. Samsung Galaxy Note 20 release date, price, news and leaks Upcoming smartphones in India: Specs, launch date, price (Image credit: Samsung/WinFuture) According to a tweet by Anthony, a Youtuber, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 will continue to be powered by the Exynos 990 chipset, but with major improvements in terms of the performance and efficiency. These optimizations should bring it closer to the Snapdragon 865 series. He even suggested that it is almost li...

The best Microsoft Surface Go alternative right now is great for remote working

Chuwi’s UBook Pro is probably the best alternative to the Surface Go that Microsoft seems to have retired. All stocks of the diminutive tablet are currently out of stock and have been so for a while. You can still get it from third parties, often at a much higher price. Gearbest sells the Chuwi UBook Pro for $399.99 (or £340/AU$670) when you use the coupon code GBCHUWI123. Exact prices after the discount in other territories will vary depending on the day’s exchange rate. Gearbest ships to most territories worldwide via expedited shipping although you may be levied additional charges and fees by customs. Leadership in times of crisis: three ways to build resilience

There is no leadership manual for dealing with a once-in-a-century global health emergency—no script to guide what you should say to team members, customers, and stakeholders in your business.  Right now, everyone’s leadership skills are being tested in ways we could have barely imagined a month ago. It’s not just a question of how resilient our organisations are and how quickly they can adapt to lockdowns and restrictions on travel. It’s a challenge to our resilience as human beings.  When Stewart Butterfield, the founder of Slack, tweeted the story in recent days of how his business was responding to the Covid-19 emergency, he prefaced his comments with a simple introductory note: “I’m a human. I worry about my family and am deeply concerned about the millions whose jobs and health are at risk.” It was the right starting note. Here's our list of the best video conferencing tools on the market Working from home: the...

OnePlus wireless charger in India tipped to cost less than the US version

Ever since OnePlus announced the highly anticipated wireless charging feature with its new OnePlus 8 series earlier this month, many of us have been waiting with bated breath to know what it would cost in India, given that the phone itself was cheaper than in the United States.  The latest leak suggests that OnePlus would be offering wireless charger also at a discount on Indian shores.  As per the tip by Ishan Agarwal to Pricebaba, the OnePlus Warp Charge 30 Wireless charger could cost Rs 3,990 ($53 approximately). Notably, the same charger is priced at $69.95 (roughly Rs. 5,300) in the United States. The charger should also go on sale at about the same time as the phones and current expectations that the date should be sometime in May. The exact dates are still unclear.  Of course, since the cost of the wireless charges is based on a leak, we would urge our readers to take it with a pinch of salt, though the data comes from someone with a decent track record of ac...

Windows 10 is now showing adverts within the search box which are attempting to persuade people to switch to Microsoft Edge, in yet another move to promote the revamped browser which runs the risk of starting to irritate people – given how prevalent these ads are seemingly becoming. On our Windows 10 PC, the search box advert was urging us to get the Edge browser as it was ‘built to bring you the best of the web’. And in just the same way as the ads...

Did Apple underclock the bionic A13 processor in iPhone SE?

The iPhone 11 Pro Max and the iPhone SE are powered by the same Bionic A13 chipset. So, getting the same powerful processor at just $399 is nothing less than a dream for many. And while the early reviews rate the performance of the iPhone SE highly, Antutu benchmark scores reveal that Apple may have under-clocked the processor on the recently released device. The results posted on bench-marking site Antutu reveal that the iPhone SE managed to achieve a ‘sub-par’ score of 492,166 on the benchmarking tests. Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max, on the other scored a whopping 537,154, while the iPhone 11 Pro scored 521,010 and even the base variant i.e. iPhone 11 managed to score 517,400. Even though all these devices are powered by the same processor, this huge deviation in the scores suggests that Apple may have actually under-clocked the A13 Bionic processor present on the new iPhone SE. It is worth noting while all the iPhone 11 variants tested on the bench-marking site feature 4...

Barely any companies are using cloud computing to the fullest

Many organisations are failing to get the most out of cloud computing systems despite the wide range of benefits on offer, new research has revealed. The report, which surveyed over 1,250 IT decision makers around the world, added that the supposed complexity and cost of cloud computing was behind the decision for many businesses, despite the advantages cloud could provide. How to watch The Office UK: stream the hit comedy online from anywhere

Few comedies are as iconic The Office. As well as giving birth to the Ricky Gervais legend, it helped bring the mockumentary genre into the mainstream and spawned a highly successful offshoot in the America. In this guide, we'll explain how to watch The Office UK and stream the Ricky Gervais comedy from anywhere in the world. Written by Ricky Gervais and his long-time collaborator Stephen Merchant, it follows the lives of employees at the Slough branch of a fictional paper distribution company. Gervais also stars as the show's lead, office manager David Brent, who is arguably the most cringey character ever to appear on TV. The Office UK was also the first big break for a young Martin Freeman, who played Tim, and also introduced us to Lucy Davies - Tim's love interest Dawn.  While the show wasn't released to incredible ratings and only ran for two full seasons, it has a firm place in the TV comedy pantheon and for many of us is the kind of comfort blanket we...

iPhone 8 has been discontinued now the new iPhone SE is here

It’s had a good run, but after launching in September 2017 the iPhone 8 has been discontinued by Apple, with the new iPhone SE taking its place in Apple’s lineup. That means you can’t buy the iPhone 8 from Apple anymore, and while some other retailers may still stock it, they won’t get any new units in. So once those are gone it will be pre-owned/renewed stock or nothing. While it might have been nice to see the iPhone 8’s price dropped instead, to make it a super cheap option, that was never likely, and for most people the new iPhone SE will be the better buy now anyway. With a starting price of just $399 / £419 / AU$749 it’s even cheaper than the $449 / £479 / AU$779 starting price of the iPhone 8, and it has a newer chipset and otherwise similar specs and features. Here's everything you need to know about the iPhone SE 2020 Read our full iPhone 11 review Check out the best iPhones There's some hope for the iPhone 8 P...

Huawei warns UK against reversing 5G development

Huawei’s UK chief has published an open letter dismissing criticism of the company’s participation in the nation's 5G plans.  In the letter, Victor Zhang warned that any decision taken against the Huawei’s involvement in laying out the 5G roadmap in the country would not help its cause, and could instead do a “disservice” to the country. The Chinese technology giant was awarded a limited role in building 5G infrastructure in the UK back in January. However, the decision was opposed by many and in March a backbench of Conservative party MP's hinted that it could be overturned. UK falling behind on 5G awareness Huawei lays down 5G leadership gauntlet US senators urge UK rethink on Huawei and 5G 5G in the UK In his letter, Zhang also highlighted the importance of internet connectivity and the work that the company has already done with BT, Vodafone and EE to ensure that  connectivity remains uninterrupted during the pandemic outbr...

Nvidia RTX 2070 and 2060 laptop GPUs are reportedly coming in new more powerful versions

Nvidia has stealthily overhauled its GeForce RTX 2070 and RTX 2060 mobile graphics cards according to a fresh report. This comes from German PC maker Schenker, who told tech site ComputerBase (as spotted by Tom’s Hardware ) that Nvidia has tweaked the laptop versions of the RTX 2070 and 2060, using faster memory and applying power optimizations, with no announcement being made as to these changes. Nvidia reportedly readying GeForce MX450 to challenge AMD Check out the  best processors These are the best graphics cards of 2020 Of course, we have to take the word of the manufacturer for this, but apparently the pepped-up GPUs use GDDR6 video RAM which operates at a lower 1.25V rather than 1.35V. That means reduced power consumption, and also less heat being generated within the laptop – meaning that the graphics cards will be able to run with slightly faster clocks (although exactly how fast the GPU – or indeed any component – can run will also obvi...
