Samsung Galaxy Note 20’s chipset might not be that bad after all

With the Galaxy Note 20 launch just a week away, all eyes will be on what upgrades Samsung brings to the table. While the chipset might remain unchanged, there might be a silver lining. While Samsung flagship like the Note series and the S series are powered by Snapdragon chipsets in the US and European markets, they come with Exynos chipset in Asian markets such as India. It often tends to lose out on the performance front against Qualcomm Snapdragon counterparts. However, a new leak suggests some good news in this regard. Microsoft has finally announced a launch date for its bricks-and-mortar store in London, and the doors will open on July 11. The UK’s flagship store is located on Oxford Circus and it’s spread over three floors, representing some 21,932 square feet of retail premises. Interestingly, Apple’s Regent Street store is very close, being effectively just down the road and less than a minute’s walk away (as was previously speculated, Microsoft has indeed taken up residence in the former United Colours of Benetton building). Microsoft details its vision for a future operating system Should I buy a Surface Pro? OLED vs QLED: the battle of the TV tech titans

OLED vs QLED may just be the TV rivalry of our time. And like the plasma vs LCD rivalry before it, the question on everyone's lips is which panel technology will come out on top. Both technologies seem to have surprised the wider TV market. Despite the expensive and troubled manufacturing of organic LED panels, OLED has rapidly grown in prominence, thanks to support from the likes of LG, Panasonic, Sony, and Hisense.  QLED TV on the other hand came out of nowhere in 2017 – technically as a rebrand of Samsung's SUHD television range – but now make up a huge proportion of Samsung's televisions. But is QLED tech the very peak of current TV technology, as many people would claim, or does it just get more of an advertising push? Is the rival OLED technology – supported by almost all other TV brands – actually the real deal?  If you hate acronyms and don't know how to start choosing between them, this is what you need to know about b...

Is this what mobile 5G gaming will look like?

We still don’t know exactly what to expect when 5G arrives – we know it will provide quicker and more reliable connection to the internet, but we still don’t know how this will affect the way we game or stream media on our phones. Network providers in countries around the world have launched, or are preparing to launch, 5G networks, and companies like Samsung , Motorola and Oppo have already released compatible phones, so the 5G future we’re anticipating is visible on the horizon. This 5G infrastructure isn’t exactly widespread yet, so to see how 5G might change our mobile gaming habits we took a look at Hatch, a cloud gaming app that’s already out, ready for when all our phones are 5G-enabled. Since 5G isn’t available yet in most places we used the app over Wi-Fi and 4G, to get a feel for how the app runs on a fast (ish) connection, as well as what it feels like to stream games on the go. The best free PDF editor 2019: edit documents without paying a penny

Truly great free PDF editors are hard to come by, but there are some excellent tools around if you know where to look. PDF documents are designed to look and behave exactly the same way on any device. That makes it a brilliant format for sharing, but editing them is another matter. Most office software and photo editors let you export documents in PDF format, but editing requires a dedicated tool. That's because PDF was initially a proprietary format owned by Adobe, and it still owns some of the technologies associated with it. Other companies can license those technologies, but only for a fee that's usually passed on to you – the user. There aren’t many free PDF editors, and even fewer that won’t leave your documents with unsightly watermarks. That's why we've rounded up the very best free PDF editing software that's free to use and won't add any unwanted extras to your work. You won't find a more flexible free PDF editor than ApowerP...

Hearts vs Celic live stream: how to watch 2019 Scottish Cup final today from anywhere

Did you know the Scottish Cup is the oldest national football trophy in the world? Top stat, hey? Well if you've landed on this page, we don't doubt for a minute that you already knew that little titbit. And it probably also means that you're interested in seeing who wins this weekend's big 2019 Scottish Cup final. Well, we can help you there with our Hearts vs Celtic live stream tips. Saturday 25 May is arguably the biggest day in the 2018-19 Scottish football calendar and all of the action is ready to kick off at 3pm. The big story of the day (sorry Hearts fans) is to see whether Celtic will pull off an unheralded third successive domestic treble, having already won the league (although Rangers weren't far behind) and beaten Aberdeen 1-0 in the Scottish League Cup Final. Celtic have won the competition 38 times before and Neil Lennon's team will obviously go in to the game as big favourites. Heart of Midlothian on the other hand are eight-time winners th...

This exclusive Google Pixel 3 deal is as cheap as the new 3a - just £20 a month

Just as we finally started to accept the new shockingly high prices of Google Pixel 3 deals , they've now come crashing down in drastic fashion, knocking hundreds off the overall cost of contracts. But of all the cut prices, none can even come to close to this new exclusive offer. Thanks to the code TECHPIX3 just for TechRadar readers, you can drop the upfront cost of this Google Pixel 3 down to just £50. But here's where it really shines...you only have to pay £20 a month! That makes this offer cheaper than a lot of Google Pixel 3a deals (Google's new budget 3 edition) and a good few hundred pounds cheaper than most Pixel 3 offers. In other words, no Google offers can touch this for pure affordability. You can see the offer in full below or if it somehow isn't the kind of deal you want (maybe more data?) then check out our guide to the best mobile phone deals .  Want more tech deals this weekend? Better than Prime Day - time's running out to get the best Echo Dot deal ever

When the Amazon Prime Day deals roll into town in July, it's a no-brainer that the Amazon Echo Dot will get a big discount like it does every year. The thing is, it'll be nowhere near as good as this one - and it ends at 9am tomorrow.  This is a UK-only deal, but we've rounded up the latest top deals in the US over on our Memorial Day sales page. UK readers, be sure to check out the Bank Holiday sales this weekend too. We're expecting Prime Day to bring the Echo Dot down to £29.99 as per usual, or £24.99 at the very best if Google aggressively price cuts the Google Home Mini as the search giant can't help but wind Amazon up any chance it gets with its line of rival smart speakers. Act fast though, and you can get an Amazon Echo Dot bundled in with a month of Amazon Music Unlimited's (it's like Spotify) family plan for just £15.98. That's £14.99 for Amazon Music and a mere 99p for the Echo Dot smart speaker on top. That...

The best iPad games of 2019

The iPhone revolutionized gaming through multitouch, but the iPad provided a larger canvas and power for fully immersive and expansive experiences. Apple’s tablet remains a powerful, engaging gaming device, whether you delve into innovative touchscreen games, or use a controller for a more console-style experience. Whatever you prefer, the very best games are found in our lists. Check back weekly for our latest favorite. iPad game of the week: The Witness ($9.99/£9.99/AU$14.99) The Witness is ultimately a puzzle game, but describing it as such feels reductive. Really, it feels more like a full-fledged world – a beautiful, deserted, abandoned island you’re stranded on, with the aim of figuring out why. You soon discover the island is peppered with maze-like puzzles connected together by massive lengths of piping. Completing enough of these opens gates, and shoots light beams at a distant mountain. It’s all very mysterious. A wordless game bereft of h...
